Epithalon

Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It is a synthetic derivative of Epithalamin, a polypeptide naturally produced in the pineal gland. Epithalon is renowned in the field of gerontology and molecular biology for its purported role in regulating cellular senescence and life extension.

Research Applications

Epithalon is studied for boosting telomerase, which lengthens telomeres and may allow cells to bypass the "Hayflick Limit." Research also examines its effects on melatonin secretion, circadian rhythm regulation, and antioxidant enzyme activity. In animal studies, Epithalon has inhibited spontaneous tumor growth and improved immune function in older subjects.
